Baumer Specimen & Grotesk T-shirt
This edition is dedicated to the latest expansion of the Baumer typeface family, designed by Erkin Karamemet together with Gregor Maria Sahl. Developed for this release, the Baumer Type Specimen presents the typeface family as the visual identity of a fictional company called Baumer Group. Through its sub-brand Grotesk, the specimen unfolds into a comprehensive corporate universe—a hybrid between a brand manual and a technical guide, filled with applied examples, typographic details, and fictional use cases. Combined with AI-generated imagery, the project creates the impression of a fully developed and tangible corporate environment. Extending this fictional corporate world into physical reality, the Grotesk Shirt translates one of the specimen’s imagined applications into a tangible object. Conceived as corporate clothing for the fictional Baumer Group, it turns the visual language of the specimen into a wearable product. The shirt is released as a limited edition of 100 pieces and comes bundled with the Baumer Type Specimen as a hand-signed and numbered set.
About the Type Specimen:
The Baumer Type Specimen is offset printed in Germany with spot colours on various papers in A4 format and saddle-stitched. Across 36 pages, it presents the Baumer Headline, Baumer Uniwidth, and Baumer Mono type families.
About the Grotesk T-shirt:
The T-shirt is handmade by The Factory in Kosovo, Europe, from 100% premium 220 gsm GOTS-certified cotton, offering a substantial weight and refined quality. Its custom cut is based on our understanding of what the perfect T-shirt should look and feel like. It features silkscreen prints on the front and back and is available in sizes S, M, L, and XL.
